My Mission Statement
My mission is to dependably partner with established and successful online business coaches and other “solopreneurs” to consistently provide superior virtual assistance. I will engage in regular training and upgrading to grow and keep current with trends, technology, and services.
As a wife and mother of three daughters (aged 20, 18, and 15), I know how to juggle multiple balls and keep them all in the air. That strong family foundation keeps me grounded and reminds me of what’s important in life. After my family, my business is what’s most important to me and I am passionate about both building my business AND helping other solopreneurs grow and organize their businesses too.
I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur; to make my own rules, set my hours, work from home, choose my clients, and create my own set of goals – be my own boss. I’ve always loved working with computers – technology doesn’t frighten me! A range of tasks and the chance to work with a variety of people was important.
After some research, I discovered the online support world. It’s a great fit for me and my family due to the variety of work, the diversity of clients, and the flexibility of hours. I’m a Certified Virtual Assistant through Red Deer College and a Certified eCommerce Specialist (1ShoppingCart/Practice Pay Solutions) through HotSkills VA Training. I’m always looking for ways to enhance the skills I have and learn new skills that will help my clients with their businesses and most recently I became a Certified Online Business Manager (OBM).
Learning is another passion of mine, especially since beginning my entrepreneurial journey. I am a life-long learner which is important in an online industry because everything is constantly evolving and a successful OBM needs to keep current both to have a successful business herself and to help her clients have the best business they can.
I am enthusiastic about giving back to the community I live in. Volunteering in my children’s school and in my community is very important to me. I was on the Board of Directors for a community softball league and it was so rewarding watching these children develop their skills and make new friends through each season. Currently I’m on the Board of my daughter’s riding club. It’s a way I can give a little bit back to the wonderfully supportive society I am part of.
Some of the hobbies I enjoy (to help keep a good work-life balance) include card-making and scrapbooking, reading, camping, traveling, learning and discovering new things, walking and hiking, and spending time with my family and friends (often enjoying a Chai latte at the local Starbucks). This past fall I joined a local chapter of Toastmasters to enhance both my speaking skills along with leadership skills.
“Shelley has been a complete Godsend to my business (and me!). She is highly capable, knowledgeable, and consistent–she doesn’t miss a beat! She is warm and very intuitive, always anticipating my next step and corresponding needs, and always helps me feel like she “has my back”. I launched an entirely new program with her help, which has become the bread and butter of my business. I would not have had the success I’ve had without her help in supporting this program on the back-end. If you’re looking for a VA who knows what she’s doing and will make you feel completely supported, Shelley is the one!”

“I quickly learned that Shelley had a savvy ability to make helpful suggestions, take the lead on projects and implement new systems. She is not afraid to learn new skills and learned and implemented new technology which we use for contact management, sales and email marketing.
It was because of Shelley’s warmth and approachability that she also became the first point of contact for new inquiries, both online and by phone for our practice. She was always keen to lend a helping hand and diligent to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of client health data.
If you are seeking a savvy virtual assistant for a variety of online needs and overall support to help you reduce overwhelm, I am confident Shelley would be a fantastic fit. She is positive, thoughtful and a great team player that will help contribute to the growth of your business.”
